Prairielands Council Venturing
2015-2016 VOA Officers
Venturing is a co-ed, youth-led branch of the Boy Scouts of America for youth aged 14-21. It focuses on adventure, leadership, personal growth, and service. The Venturing Officers Association exists to support crews and provide resources through planning events and holding regular meetings.
Prairielands Council Scouting provides character development and value-based leadership training to youth in nine counties of east-central Illinois and west-central Indiana. And we do it by having fun! We currently offer several hundred youth a program of responsible fun and adventure.
President
Cathie Seebauer is from Crew 1 in Champaign, IL. She has served as Prairielands Council VOA president for two terms, and was previously the VP of Administration. She is also the current Area 3 VP of Administration.
VP of Program
Damon McElhaney is from Crew 1 in Champaign, IL. He has served in leadership positions in his crew and troop, as well as on staff at Camp Drake.
VP Communication
Sofie Schwink is from Crew 42 in Homer, IL. She has served as a SummerBlast chair person, and in leadership positions at Camp Drake and in her crew.
Advisor
Jim Sample of Crew 25 in Mahomet, IL is the current VOA volunteer advisor. He also serves as his crew advisor. He is assisted by associate advisors Lindy Sample and Kaitlin Bantz.
